Stunning Engagement Photos at Balboa Park and La Jolla – San Diego

Kendal and Andrew made my job extremely easy while taking their engagement photos. Upon greeting each other we connected instantly and it felt like we were friends that lost connection and reunited years later.


Both Kendal and Andrew went to school in Texas and recently moved back to their hometown of Sunny San Diego.


Their wedding venue, Leoness Cellars, highly recommended me as their wedding photographer. After a few email exchanges, I added them to my 2021 calendar. Thank you Leoness Cellars for all the work you gave to us for 2021!!! Our family appreciates it immensely.


I always recommend that my couples have at least two outfits for their engagement photos. One that’s a little more laid back and cozy, and another that is ravishing and bold. I also recommend that we have a few locations to jump around to so that we can capture the golden sunset.


Our shoot started at the Organ Theatre in Balboa Park. We ventured around a bit and found spots free from bystanders whenever possible. Andrew and Kendal loved the architecture and greenery that the park had to offer. After about an hour shooting at Balboa Park, we headed toward La Jolla for some gorgeous sunset photos.


Windandsea Beach is one of my favorite locations for engagement photos. The rocks, non crowded beach and short walk from parking spots make for the perfect location for beach engagement photos. Since it’s residential, there are no bathrooms. I loved how Andrew and Kendal were not afraid to get their feet wet for some playful photos near the water. The cloudless sky made for some amazing golden hour photos. Check them out below!
